Dr. Maurice Salter is a board executive, educational entrepreneur, and philanthropist with over four decades of leadership spanning higher education, institutional finance, and corporate governance. Dr. Salter co-founded XAP Corporation, creating the nation's first electronic college application, and later founded School Loans Corporation (now LoanAmerica®), generating approximately $2 billion annually in student loans to expand access to higher education financing. He began his career in academia as Director of Grants and Research at UC Irvine, then founded Maurice M. Salter & Associates, the nation's largest comprehensive college counseling firm.

At his alma mater, Dr. Salter served as Chair of The UCLA Foundation and its Executive Committee, helping spearhead a historic shift in the university's asset management by establishing the UCLA Investment Company, transitioning pivotal investment duties away from the UC Regents to a dedicated, strategic entity.
